Join the Celebration: 4 Ways Consumers Can Lead the Charge on National Battery Day

Without batteries, the conveniences of the modern world would probably not exist, or not exist as we know them.

Lead batteries today power vehicles, help to store renewable wind and solar energy, provide backup power for phone companies, hospitals, planes and other critical operations. February 18 is a day to show our appreciation for battery technology and the conveniences it brings to our everyday lives.

That includes helping consumers find the nearest drop-off location for recycling their batteries. (FYI: 20 percent of people hold on to their spent batteries because they don’t know where or how to dispose of them.)
