Gopher Resource Receives Local Business Excellence Award

The Dakota County Regional (DCR) Chamber of Commerce has chosen Gopher Resource for the Chamber's 2015 Business Excellence Award, which recognizes businesses that demonstrate innovation, growth and leadership in the region.

The honor is given annually to one DCR member for its professional accomplishments and its commitment to support the local community.  Ray Krantz, director of client services and procurement for Gopher Resource, accepted the company's award at the Chamber's awards banquet Nov. 19.

Award criteria included exhibiting success in a variety of ways.  Gopher Resource stood out for its deep commitment to environmental responsibility, employee growth, and safety.  Since 2014, Gopher Resource has invested over $100 million in environmental initiatives and green jobs throughout the company.  By operating with the utmost integrity, the company has kept its headquarters and hundreds of employees in the same location for 70 years.  It currently employs nearly 300 people in Eagan, MN.

Additionally, Gopher Resource believes that good things happen in strong communities.  Through volunteerism and charitable contributions, the company supports over 25 organizations that focus on sustainability, innovation, advancing technology and general community welfare.
